Player of the Week: Kenny Lee (Triggaz)

Kenny Lee aka Jordie went to work last week against the Heat. Iso wasn't at the game, so Jordie went to work inside hitting big layups down the stretch. A former N.C.C. Champion from last year's Spring League, Jordie was on point from the outside and inside. He finished with a game high 22 pts, and helped the Triggaz defeat the powerhouse Heat squad. The Heat look to bounce back in the 1st round of the playoffs, where they will battle the Flips Squad. Hopefully both teams will have their full squadrons, because it will be an interesting battle.

Since there was a five way tie and not every team played each other, we used a point total average system. The head to head tie-breaker will not work since not everyone played each other. The total point averages from the 5 teams is available here.

Providence & Shohoku were eliminated tonight and are going fishing. Which teams will advance on Thursday? The question remains, which team will reign, and which teams will feel pain?

Peace to all who have gone fishing (including my team) =(

Player of the Week: Asangaiso Ebong (Heat)

Asangaiso Ebong aka Iso aka Tha Genius aka “Get Out the Tracks Cause the Train is Coming” went to work last week. Dropping a season high 44 pts. He finished 2 points shy of tying the N.C.C. record of 46, held by Chi Lai of the Hurricanes. He dunked it, slammed it, tapped it, clapped it, and slinged it. My man went to work. The most dominant player in the N.C.C. Give props where it’s due.

Who will finish #1? The playoffs are just around the corner! The schedule will be updated with the seedings on Thursday. Nice & Shohoku still have a chance to grab the 8th seed. Shohoku has to win and they also need Nice to lose, or there chances of going to the promised land will be postponed until next season. Whichever team fails to clinch the 8th and final spot will meet Sin City at the Charles River, as they have already decided to go fishing. I hope to see them back next season.

May Madness begins next week! Win or go home! Only the strong survive. This is the time when great players emerge and step their game up. Is it in you? Let your game speak. [Insert other cliché/slogan here].

Tha Boss signing off,

- J. Son

Player of the Week: Alex Delpleche (Synergy)

Alex Delpleche aka Tha Mouf went on a 6-0 run during the last 2 minutes of the 2nd half to force the 1st ever overtime game of the season. The Mouf finished with 28 pts. The reigning playoffs MVP is looking to do damage as the regular season comes to an end. He talks a lot of trash, but he backs it up with that cash money jumper in your grillepiece.

In other news, Chi Lai from the Hurricanes broke the single season scoring record, held by Sean Hoar (Team Massacre Summer '05), which was 39 points. Chi Lai dropped 46 points, equivalent to the opposition's final score. The Hurricanes also broke the single season record for total points and point differential, beating their opponent by 62 points. Final score was 108-46

Seven teams have clinched the playoffs. Dorche, Heat, Hurricanes, Flips Squad, Providence, Triggaz, & Synergy.

Shohoku, Nice, & Sin City will battle it out for the eighth spot. Every game matters from this point on.

The 2006 Spring League All-Star Game Roster is now available. Click here to see if you made the cut. Please let us know if you CANNOT make it.

Peace!

Player of the Week: Carlos Yin (Dorche)

Carlos Yin aka C-5 went to work this past week against the Flips Squad. C-5 was ridin' dirty on the opposition. Everytime the Flips turned it over, C-5 was already down the court, and converted on easy buckets. It looked like he was doing a lay-up drill straight up. He finished with a career high and season leading high, 35 pts. These two teams are familiar with each other, as they play in the same Friday Night league held in Cambridge (Only for Filipinos I believe, damn that's racist!! lol. just playin'). Ya'll should be used to C-5 by now. He is the reigning regular season MVP from last season, an award which received mixed feelings from the players in the league. I saw every game last season, and my man played on both sides of the court with intensity, so please don't question my judgment, because than you're insulting my intelligence, and J. Son doesn't really appreciate that :-). If cats do happen to insult my IQ, I might have to call C-5 up and tell him to take his toolies off safety. If you don't know what I'm talkin' 'bout, once you get your shot punched by C-5, you'll see him flex his tooly.

As we enter Week 6, the Heat top the standings, followed by Providence. These two teams share the same records, but head to head, Heat has defeated Providence. On the flipside, Shohoku & Sin City are looking from outside the bubble. They have to win at least 2 out of 3 to have a chance to clinch a playoff spot. MVP, Defensive Player Award, & ALL-STAR voting is coming soon to a computer near you. Oh and btw, please throw away your trash before leaving Brighton High School, and please bring some more girls. ^_^

Peace out to all my ninjas.

Player of the Week: David Seng (Sin City)

David Seng shat on Team Nice last Thursday, helping his team clinch their 1st victory of the season. Mr. Seng played hard and used his quickness to blow by Team Nice's inside players. He finished with a season high 28 pts. Team Nice was shocked when the game ended, but you should never count a team out. Sin City played hard and they were hungry for that "W".

In other news, Heat's quest to go 4-0 was ruined by the revamped Flips Squad. Their big guy finally decided to show up: Sullivan aka Sully aka Pittsnogle. Their main focus was to shut down Iso aka Tha Genius, which they did. Iso finished with a season low 17 pts. Although the Heat lost, at least we got to see Iso  sling it on someone. Someone bring a videocamera to the next Heat game. Oh yeah, watch out for Providence. They've got leapers. Team pictures next week. Go get your hair did and rock your crispy kicks. Ayo, no trashtalking this week?

SCORING LEADERS UPDATED!!!

Player of the Week: Kevin Woo aka 'K-Dub' (Hurricanes)

Wet like dirty diapers. What you know about that? 2005 Summer League Playoffs MVP Kevin Woo knows all about that. Kevin Woo aka K-Dub was a dirty mother (shut your mouth) this past week. After K-Dub & the Hurricanes got roasted by the Flips Squad, K-Dub put the team on his back and came out with firepower, finishing with 22 pts. He pulled the trigga from everywhere: downtown, 15 feet, 12 feet, your mama's house, in the TNT's mouthpiece, & other various locations.

A lot of trashtalking from the opposing squad (Triggaz) ignited this heated battle. These two teams also have a past history. The Hurricanes knocked the Triggaz squad out of the playoffs in the Summer of 2004 and most recently, the 2005 Fall League. To add fuel to the fire, Peter Tran aka Nails & Spa aka 1/2 of the TNT Connection, referred to the Hurricanes as the "Mercy Canes", and guaranteed a "W" of 20+. Unfortunately the only "W" Nails & Spa saw was Mr. "Woo".

What an interesting week. Heat improves their record to 3-0. Asangaiso Ebong from the Heat aka Tha Genius aka Isolation Chamber is making a run for this season's MVP. He is a scoring machine. On the flipside, Sin City remains winless at 0-3. It ain't never too late to improve your record.

Finally, how could I forget the barrage of verbal attacks on the forums this past week. Last week's player of the week, Mr. Ocho from the Flips Squad started coming at your boy J. Son! Ocho said he'd posterize me and his team mates also added that he should bring his nutduster! ha! Harold Mortel aka H to the Izzo aka The Immortel One, predicted a final score of 65-40, in the favor of the Flips Squad. Lesson of the week: Don't count your chickenheads before they hatch dunny. 2 out of 2 predictions were incorrect. Don't come at J. Son aka Tha Executive again, or I'm going to have drop more than 9 pts. Ya'll need to stop hatin' on my 9 pts. I was in L.A. last week lounging, so I had no time to ball. I wonder what's in store for Week 4. I don't see any trashtalking this week??? Where's everyone at??

Peace to you and your mama,

- J. Son

Player of the Week: Jonathan Ochotorena aka 'Ocho' (Flips Squad)

Mr. Ocho dropped 30 pts en route to a 24 pt victory against the Hurricanes, enforcing this season's 2nd mercy rule. Keep up the good work Mr. Ocho. If you get in Ocho's way, he's gonna leave you with a mouthful. Observe below.

Signing off,
