Congratulations to the 2008 Boston City Classic (B.C.C.) Spring League Champions: PUMA! The curse of the #1 seed has finally ended! Great effort by the Untouchables, but tonight, Puma was the "untouchable" team.

From Left to Right: Luke Welna, Zach Servideo, Dave Crutchfield, Jeff Benanto, Mike DeCesar (Captain), Jordan Helter, Wale Ashafa (Playoffs M.V.P.)
Congratulations to the 2008 Boston City Classic (B.C.C.) Spring League Playoffs M.V.P.: Wale Ashafa. He averaged 19.3 points per game during the playoffs and was a threat both offensively and defensively.

So the curse of the #1 seed is finally over! Puma did the unthinkable, but they were a worthy team right from the beginning. Making their B.C.C. debut this season, they tore up their division in dramatic fashion. They beat their opponents like they owed them money. Their average margin of victory was 31.2 points during the regular season. They played great team ball all season and it continued throughout the playoffs. Even without their 3rd leading scorer, Peter Tongo, they were able to overcome a monumental task of playing 3 games in 3 nights. They have earned the rights to play in the elite Veteran Conference next season. Once again congratulations to Puma for winning the 'chip!
So another season is in the books and another one is brewing. 2008 B.C.C. Summer League starts in a few weeks! July 1st is the tentative start date. Captains and prospective teams please e-mail me ASAP with your rosters. We gonna do it again.
Unfortunately, it looks like I will be stepping down as the B.C.C. Commissioner. Due to my upcoming business venture, I won't be at every game anymore and I will be behind the scenes as the of the Executive DirectorB.C.C. It was great meeting everyone and it was a pleasure serving you guys. Until we meet again.
- J. Son
P.S. NBA Finals: It's a wrap like Caesar. 4-1 or 4-2 Celtics. Prepare for a riot with kids hanging off the traffic poles, flipping cars, and smashing things until they hurt themselves. What a great country we live in.
P.P.S. AT THE BUZZER AKA ATB COMING SOON!

Congratulations to the recipient of the 2008 Boston City Classic (B.C.C.) Spring League Defensive Player Award: Jason Harris (Untouchables). During the regular season and playoffs, he was pinning cats like donkeys, swatting shots like flies, and stuffing cats like teddy bears. Big ups to Jason Harris.

June 10, 2008
Congratulations to the 2008 Boston City Classic (B.C.C.) Summer League Most Valuable Player: Bipin Tamang (Dirty Duckz).

Leading his team in scoring with 22.3 points per game, he is the only player with three 30 point games this season. He led his team to a 5-2 record and helped oust the Runner-Up, 2008 B.C.C. Winter League ChampionshipMasae. The youngest player ever to receive the M.V.P. award, he has proven that age ain't nuttin' but a number. Big ups to Nepal's Finest aka The Playa from the Himalayas. The only player to win the M.V.P. award and win a championship in the same season is Peter Tran. Everyone else has failed to win a 'chip after winning an M.V.P. award. Destiny awaits. Bipin Tamang joins an elite list of past M.V.P.'s:
2004 N.C.C. Summer League M.V.P.: Peter Tran (Hurricanes)
2005 N.C.C. Spring League M.V.P.: San Soan (Titans)
2005 N.C.C. Summer League M.V.P.: Johnson Lam (Thundercats)
2005 N.C.C. Fall League M.V.P.: Carlos Ying (Dorche)
2006 N.C.C. Spring League M.V.P.: Jonathan Ochotorena (Flips Squad)
2006 N.C.C. Summer League M.V.P.: Oak Nguyen (Dai Ma)
2007 B.C.C. Spring League M.V.P.: J.P. Torres & Mike Bernard (Untouchables)
2007 B.C.C. Summer League M.V.P.: Kema Bly (One)
2008 B.C.C. Winter League M.V.P.: Josh Lundrigan (Masae)
In other league news, forfeits in the B.C.C. have been just as common as flopping in the NBA. New rule in effect next season: $60 forfeit deposit + an additional $60 forfeit fee per occurrence. It's not fair to the opposing teams, the referees, and J. Son.
The 2008 B.C.C. Spring League Playoffs is on and poppin'! After tonight, only 4 teams will remain. Representing the Veteran Conference is the #2 seed Dirty Duckz, led by M.V.P. Bipin Tamang. Look out for
another rising star from the Dirty Duckz, Cam Gamad aka Killa Cam. Only 17 years old, Killa Cam has been tearing up the court lately. The #2 Dirty Duckz are the youngest team in the league and they are out to prove that they can hang with the big boys.
I don't believe in curses, hexes, luck, witches, etc.... but the curse of the #1 seed is the real deal. The #1 seed Full Clip was ousted early, becoming another victim to the curse. A lot of it has to do with timing. They were missing their best player, but the show must go on. Check out the eerie history:
2004 N.C.C. Spring League: #1 Sleeperz lose to #2 Bravehearts in Finals
2004 N.C.C. Summer League: #1 Knights lose to #8 Vegie Bird in Quarter-Finals
2005 N.C.C. Spring League: #1 Titans lose to #3 Hurricanes in Finals
2005 N.C.C. Summer League: #1 Dynasty Muzik lose to #3 Hurricanes AAU in Finals
2005 N.C.C. Spring League: #1 Hodori lose to #4 Synergy in Semi-Finals
2006 N.C.C. Spring League: #1 Synergy lose to #2 Hurricanes in Finals
2006 N.C.C. Summer League: #1 Dai Ma lose to #6 Heat in Finals
2007 B.C.C. Spring League: #1 Untouchables lose to #4 Masae in Semi-Finals
2007 B.C.C. Summer League: #1 Watch City lose to #6 Dynasty in Finals
2008 B.C.C. Winter League: #1 Masae lose to #2 Watch City in Finals
2008 B.C.C. Spring League: #1 Full Clip lose to #5 Untouchables in Semi-Finals

When will this madness end!?!?
So once again, your boy J. Son has been eliminated from the playoffs. Playing in my 9th season, I was hoping to finally win a championship, but it looks like I will be going fishing.
Good luck to the rest of the teams and to those eliminated, the Summer League is just around the corner.

Week 5: Player of the Week - Gentry Wyatt (Smoking Aces)
Gentry Wyatt aka Oklahoma's Finest was just a beast on Week 5. Quite possibly the best shooter in the B.C.C., he hit 6 treys and finished with 35 points. He single handedly defeated Full Clip with his scoring. Full Clip was 4-0 and Wyatt's efforts helped to beat the only undefeated time in the league. Wyatt is one half of the highest scoring tandem in the B.C.C. Drew Rautenberg and G. Wyatt average better than 57 points per game, leading all other duos.Full Clip suffered their 1st loss last week and their efforts to become the only undefeated team in the league comes to an end. One of the best teams in the Rookie Conference and the B.C.C. is Puma. With three explosive scorers, Mike DeCesar, Peter Tongo, and Wale Ashafa, they look to continue their damage. They have annihilated their last 5 opponents by an average margin of 31 points per game. They also have the longest current winning streak in the B.C.C. with 5.
In sadder news, the Thundercats from the Veteran Conference have been eliminated from playoffs contention. They are currently planning a fishing trip. They look to fight hard in the last 2 weeks to salvage a win, as they are currently 0-5.
In other news, the 1st suspension in the history of the B.C.C. was handed down last week after a player from What Wins Games karate chopped a piece of wood from the Brighton High Gymnasium. There is a zero tolerance policy for fighting and property damage. I hope everyone continues to play hard with great sportsmanship.
M.V.P. Watch: Bipin Tamang of the Dirty Duckz, Wale Ashafa from Puma, and Gentry Wyatt from Smoking Aces. Which player will rise to the occasion? M.V.P. voting ballots will be handed out next week. Stay tuned!
As the Celtics face the Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals, the B.C.C. is heading into Week 6. Playoffs are in less than 2 weeks. Players who have played in less than 3 regular season games are officially ineligible for playoffs. The complete list of ineligible players will be available shortly.
BTW, your boy J. Son has finally graduated!

Week 3: Player of the Week - Bipin Tamang (Dirty Duckz); Week 4: Player of the Week - Charles Yuan (Masae)
On Week 3, Bipin Tamang aka Nepal's finest was the livest one and his game was tight like Iverson. He put it on for his city and his squadron like Kanyeezy and Jeezy. On one of the craziest nights of B.C.C. basketball, where all three games were decided by 6 points or less, B. Tamang was gunning it and dropped 30 points like he didn't even try. Tamang led his team to a victory over Masae, a team that eliminated the Dirty Duckz from the 2008 B.C.C. Winter League Semi-Finals. B. Tamang dropped another 30 points on Week 4 vs the undefeated Full Clip, but was unable to clinch the "W". Hailing as the B.C.C.'s A.I., his frame may look small, but he finds a way to get
buckets and his three point shot is nasty like your breath after salt and vinegar chips. On Week 4, Charles Yuan aka CHA Da Rubix was just an idiot. He was hitting treys from Lynn City aka Sin City and he also PUT ON for his city. He was playing like he felt there were cats out there that owed him checks and there were chicks out there who owed him sex. He scored a career high 37 points, including 6 three-pointers. He also did it with only 4 players against Da Bridge, who had 5 players. Yuan aka Chism would not be fazed or denied on Week 4.
In other league news, the two undefeated teams from the Rookie Conference coming into Week 4 got their dreams shattered like Jordan to Kemp, Malone, Barkley, and Ewing. All-Stars and Get Down or Lay Down each suffered their 1st loss in dramatic fashion. Puma put Get Down or Lay Down to sleep and the Shootahs dismantled the All-Stars by 32 points. Puma & the Shootahs were trying to prove a point. Even though they had one loss a piece, they were the elite teams in the Rookie Conference. Get Down or Lay Down and the All-Stars look to bounce back next week, as they battle to move back to the top of the standings.
The only undefeated team in the league is: Full Clip from the Veteran Conference. They are 4-0 and are clicking on all levels.
On the flipside, there are two teams in the league without a victory. Ohm City (Rookie Conference) and Thundercats (Veteran Conference). It looks as though they will go fishing early, unless they start winning some games. Only the top 6 teams from each conference will make the playoffs.
Who are the contenders? Who are the pretenders?
As the regular season comes to an end, answers will unfold, players will rise to the occasion, Celtics might win a road game?
Another thing. The crying must stop. I think players are crying more than my baby niece. Stop calling my name out too, b/c than it gets personal.
There's no conspiracy! Also, the referees are not NBA refs and ya'll are not NBA players. To avoid banishment, I suggest discontinuing whining like Lebron James.
Enjoy the NBA playoffs and increase the peace.
By the way, WTF is up with all this pollen!
I also uploaded the team photos from about 8 teams. I'll get the rest done this week. Access the team profiles at www.bccleague.org/teams

Week 2: Player of the Week - Jimmy Hall (Da Bridge)
Newly acquired Jimmy Hall went straight to work like an immigrant who just got his green card. A proven winner and former B.C.C. Champion, he scored 30 of his season-leading high 36 points in the 2nd half when his team needed it the most. He was hitting from everywhere and took it to the rack with rico suaveness. Jimmy is no stranger to scoring. Last year, he scored including 44 points11 three-pointers, a B.C.C. record. He was one of the main reasons his squad Masae won the 2007 B.C.C. Spring League Championship. Big ups to POTW James "Jimmy" Hall. In other news, there are 5 unbeaten teams in the league. Full Clip, Da Bridge, Get Down or Lay Down, All-Stars, and the Shootahs. On the flip-side there are 5 teams that have yet to get a "W". Week 3 was unfortunately interrupted and cut short by unscheduled maintenance. They forgot to contact me, so it was quite a frenzy. The games will be played on Wednesday and Thursday at another facility or they will be played at a later date. I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused today and for this upcoming week. Captains stay near your phone and check your email!
Team pictures next week!
Celtics vs Cavs Round 2. Cheah. Braaaaaaaaap.

Joint of the Week: Korn - Freak on a Leash

Week 1: Player of the Week - Jay Firth (Shootahs)
Jay Firth aka Jay Fizzle was simply an assassin in Week 1 against Puma. He scored 20 points in the 2nd half and also hit 4 treys, including the go-ahead bucket. Jay Fizzle isn't a rookie at scoring points late in regulation. He currently holds the B.C.C. record for most points in the 2nd half with 31 points. Jay-Fizzle helped the Shootahs regain momentum against Puma, who is looking like a force to be reckoned with. Wale Ashafa aka Wale's World from Puma had a chance to win the game at the buzzer, but the shot was off. Dan Wong aka Soy Sauce from was in the same scenario against the Da BridgeThundercats, but he was able to convert and the crowd of 2 went wild. The Dirty Duckz also had a chance to win their game at the buzzer, but they were unable to even get a shot off. What an exciting Week 1.Here we are. The 2008 B.C.C. Spring League. There were 4 other teams who wanted to register their squadrons, but congratulations to the 16 teams for being able to comply with the registration guidelines. It's a brand new spanking season. Some new faces in new places. A record-breaking 16 teams! Since there are so many teams, we decided to make 2 separate conferences. The Veteran Conference consists of teams that have played in 2 or more B.C.C./N.C.C. seasons. The Rookie Conference consists of teams that have played in less than 2 seasons. The top 6 from each conference will make the playoffs. The top 2 from each conference will receive a 1st round bye. What does this mean? 4 teams are going fishing come playoff time. To view the complete bracket, click here.
M.V.P. Watch. Bipin Tamang aka Nepal's Finest. He dropped 31 points this past week against the giants aka What Wins Games. He couldn't get his team the "W", but he went to work like an immigrant's 12 hour shift. His game is tight like Iverson and he's the Dirty Duckz' livest one.
The teams are looking real tough this season. Which teams will reign and which teams will feel pain? The 1st week started off with a bang, with 3 close games, and 1 decided by a buzzer beater. We've got game summaries every night, so if you want to earn your nickname, you better impress the Ghostwriter.
Week 2 is in the midst, and we will have team pictures next week. Rock your crispy kicks, get lined up, eyebrows waxed, and the whole nine.
All teams must finalize their rosters by the deadline: Thursday, April 17th, 5 P.M. All changes must be made via email.
Let's have a clean, fun, and enjoyable season. No BITCH-ASS-NESS! It's an epidemic that's been spreading!

J. Son signing off.
